Diurne
For Solo Piano
(Score)
Program Notes:
Diurne is the second piece in a suite for piano composed in the early 90's. It is an homage to Debussy, one of the chief composers I've played over the years. The title is a twist on the term 'nocturne' (night piece), and refers to a similar feeling of meditation one might achieve in a pleasant place on a hot summer day. It was premiered by Shi-Ling Shih in 1991. - Daniel Palkowski
