Program Notes by Composer:
"Seranak is the name of the mansion where my fellow composers & I stayed during the summer of 1985 at the Tanglewood Festival. The name derives from Serge and Natalie Koussevitsky. The piece was written in one of the cabins there, where I found myself doing the most work right around 4 a.m., in between swatting mosquitos and watching bats thwack themselves against the screen. - Daniel Palkowski
